Our Favourite Midi-Skirts for Summer

Our Favourite Midi-Skirts for Summer

Say so long to the mini and sayonara to the maxi – summer 2016 is all about the midi length! We’re loving the return of the tea-length hemline. While traditionally reserved for ultra-feminine and delicate styles, the modern midi can be everything from darling to daring. Take a look at our favourite midi skirts and dresses of the season.

Zara Skirt with Pockets

Oh Zara, what would we fashionistas do without you? There were so many gorgeous midi skirts to choose from that narrowing down our selection was a tough choice. We finally settled on this effortlessly breezy striped midi, complete with comfy pockets. With its clean lines and universally flattering vertical stripes, we can’t wait to rock it with a slouchy tee for an easy day look.

Forever 21 Buttoned Chambray A-Line Skirt

A midi skirt that’s right on the 90’s trend as well? We’re all over it! Forever 21 hits both trends right on the nose with this lovely little dark denim chambray number. We can totally picture it on Rachel during the early seasons of Friends. Throw on a crop tank and choker and you’re good to go.

Anthropologie Kathu Silk Dress

This gorgeous silk number screams summertime. With its tropical themed print and wrap around waist fit, we’re thinking of wearing this Anthropologie number on our next warm destination vacation. A pair of chunky sandals, a messy topknot, some stunner shades and we’re ready to jet set.

Club Monaco Gheraldina Cotton Skirt

We needed at least one clean white skirt on this list! Club Monaco comes to the rescue with a crisp cotton piece we can see adding tons of versatility to our summer wardrobes. Whether it’s an all-white outfit, colour-blocked or white and patterned, this skirt has got us covered. Pair with funky RayBan glasses for the perfect chic look!

Project Social T Beverly Slit Dress

This basic midi will make you look anything but while wearing it. A lovely neutral shade of olive and a subtly sexy slit are all reasons why we love this number. Throw on moto boots and a leather jacket for some serious urban cool.

Zara Frilled Lace Skirt

Zara does it again, this time with a version of a midi that can easily be worn out at night. The three-tiered black lace skirt is the femme-fatale look at its elegant best. Add a kitten heel and silky tank and you’ve got yourself the perfect date night ensemble.

ASOS Scuba Strappy Midi Skater Dress

ASOS was another spot we perused for hours until finally choosing a piece. There were just too many gorgeous midi options! We finally narrowed it down to this simple yet modern navy number. It’s fit and flare cut is a flattering one and the on-trend scuba material keeps it totally relevant. Pair with all sorts of shoe/purse/jacket combos for a highly versatile dress for all your evening needs.

Eliza J Jacquard High/Low Ball Skirt

If we were ever to wear a skirt to a ball, it would be this one. Eliza J’s gold-leafed tea-length skirt is the stuff dreams are made of. Intricate pleats and a beautifully printed skirt make for an outfit fit for black-tie. Pair with dainty heels and an equally fancy top for that Cinderella feel.

A.L.C Daniel Off-The-Shoulder Dress

A.L.C is our go-to for modern, clean, yet still feminine cut clothes and they’ve done it again with this streamlined number. Just call it the perfect midi cocktail dress! With a flirty off-the-shoulder neckline, cinched waist and gradual flared bottom, this dress is sleek and sexy.

Gucci Ruffled Silk-Georgette Dress

We had to sneak in one dream dress on here…and if we’re going to dream, it’s going to be of Gucci. Bold, ruffled, modern and drop dead gorgeous. This dress is all things Gucci. Paired with eclectic heels or even oxfords for an edgier look, we’d love to swirl around in this flouncy fantasy.
